3  Cross section sources

3.1 Overview

Table 3.1 lists the sources for the trace gas cross sections used in the spectral fitting. Column “Name” combines the acronym of the trace gas (e.g. “BrO”) with an index to distinguish different sources used.

Table 3.1: Cross section sources
Name Source
BrO-1 Wilmouth et al. (1999)
HCHO-1 Meller and Moortgat (2000)
OIO-1 Spietz (2005)
O2O2-1 Thalman and Volkamer (2013) for \(\lambda \leq 596\) nm combined with Newnham and Ballard (1998) for \(\lambda > 596\) nm
O3-1 Serdyuchenko et al. (2013) for \(\lambda \leq 1100\) nm combined with Rothman et al. (2013) for \(\lambda > 1100\) nm
O3-2 Like O3-1, but the wavelength registration of the Serdyuchenko et al. (2013) data is shifted by +3 pm
SO2-1 Vandaele et al. (1994)
SO2-2 Vandaele et al. (2009)
